E-mail access with POP3
To configure your e-mail client programme (such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Pegasus Mail, Eudora, etc.), you need to enter the following information:
POP3 settings for incoming mail
 | | | POP3 server name: | pop3ssl.yourdomain
(pop3ssl.example.com) | | User name: | Your e-mail address | | Password: | If you have forgotten your password, a new password can be generated by the Domain/Service Manager of your organisation. | | POP3 server security setting: | Via SSL connect
(In your mail programme, this option can be found under 'Security' or 'Advanced'). | | Port: | 995
(instead of 110; the majority of mail programmes will select this port automatically, once you have set the above SSL connect). |
Accepting the security certificate when starting your mail programme
Because of the SSL security setting, mail programmes may request you whether you want to use/accept the Security certificate of our server. Choose 'Yes'.
The majority of mail programmes has the option to accept the certificate permanently, in order to prevent that this question is repeated. Unfortunately, such option is not available in Outlook Express for Windows and you will have to accept the certificate every time that you start your programme.
SMTP settings for outgoing mail
Unless you use the smtp-relay service of Ace Suares, sénding mail from your domain is conducted through your internet access provider (UPC, Wanadoo, etc.).
You shall therefore use the smtp settings given to you by your internet access provider.
Note: A majority of the access providers even blócks the possibility of sending mail through other mail servers. They have taken this measure in order to combat spam.
